Chapter 6. ETERNAL SALVATION SOLELY OF GOD

              a. General. The Bible teaches that all of the chosen in Christ shall be called, regenerated, converted, sanctified and supported by the power of God, so they shall be preserved in grace and not one of them shall ever be finally lost. While God's children may during this life lose the joy and blessings of their salvation by their disobedience during this life, God will always love his own and not one of them shall ever be eternally lost. God's children can by disobedience lose the joy of their salvation, but cannot lose their eternal salvation!

               b. Proof Scriptures. Among the scriptures setting forth the fact that salvation is solely an act of God benefiting his chosen, and not in any way the result or consequence of any condition that man may meet or fail to meet, are the following:

2 Timothy 1:8-9 God...who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Romans 8:29-30 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

               c. All The Chosen Saved. All of those chosen in Christ Jesus, and for whom Christ died on the cross, shall be saved, without exception. This is so because the work of Christ is a complete and perfect work, and is one that pleases his Father in heaven:

Ephesians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Psalms 33:11-12 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Psalms 89:3-4 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

               d. Chosen Called. The chosen shall be effectually called by God unto spiritual life. God chooses and calls his people, rather than his people choosing and calling on God. Everyone that God calls shall be born of his spirit:

Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Isaiah 43:1 ...Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

e. Regeneration of Chosen. Every one of God's chosen shall be regenerated or born of God's Spirit, without exception. Believing that Jesus is the Christ is not a condition to regeneration, but rather is a fruit or consequence of regeneration:

John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Ephesians 2:1-3 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 3:6-8 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
